teri's post prompts me to raise a question about "message": what do you consider to be the best live version of it that you have ever "experienced" - be it by the police, sting or another artist, be it live or recorded. personally, i have two: 1) best version by the police i have heard is the one found on disc #4 of the box set, sounds like it was taken from either the "regatta" or zendatta" tour 2) sting's jazz version played at teh Monserrat benefit in 1997 ...only hope can keep me together... rich --- Teri Kronberg <burgaus@juno.com> wrote:
I just like to mention that I saw a great cover band this past saturday at the Arlington county fair. They did the best version (this side of The Police) of Message in a Bottle. I closed my eyes, and if I didn't know better--would have sworn it was '79 and Sting, Andy and Stewart were right there on the stage. The band is called "Gonzo's Nose".
Anyone in this area of Northern Virginia can check them out Aug. 29th at the at Ballston Mall.
