You can't take stuff like that seriously....Sting is just one of those
people that some people love to hate, and those people pick on qualities
that they are envious of. This survey is a result of just that. Even
casual music fans are impressed with his lyrics, and normally The Police and
Sting have been praised by the critics for being cerebral. Complaining that
he "...coopt[ed] the works of Chaucer, St. Augistine, and Shakespeare." Is
pretty funny. In the words of Kanye West, "Uhh....Uh."

Interestingly, I heard about this earlier today on CBC radio. You could
tell that the host of the program thought it was a bit off that Sting would
top this list. He said something like "I imagine there will be a lot of
upset people across Canada when they hear this," and he proceded to play a
bit of "Russians".

Ironically the lyrics were among the reason I think sting is brilliant.
Granted rhyming Nabokov with cough is weak, at best. But we all know
there are too many brilliant moments to count.
