I get the impression someone was just looking to stir up hostilities. Stewart had an on-line chat yesterday that mentioned nothing of new (or old) wars being waged...though the question of a soundtrack cd for the flim appears to be where any issues do lie: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/discussion/2006/01/26/ DI2006012601460.html On Jan 28, 2006, at 6:12 AM, Angeline Adams wrote:
In the UK's Daily Mail yesterday, their film correspondent Baz Bamigboye had an item about the Police being at the Sundance festival. He dismissed the film as "rather disappointing" and concentrated much more on the hostilities regarding the derangements, mentioning the stuff we all know about how Stewart would see them released while Sting wants to put that part of his life/career behind him. The article seemed rather slanted towards Sting, imlpying that Stewart was being unreasonable considering that he had not, afterall, written the tracks in question. It also said that Stewart had resumed his attempts to get the derangements released the following day. Has anyone heard about this, or is it just another case of the mainstream press reporting late stuff that fans have been hearing about through other channels for some time?
