I don't think there is any question that he has writer's block - worse than between ...Nothing Like the Sun and the Soul Cages. We haven't heard anything new from him to speak of since Sacred Love. The Broken Music tour was fantastic, but not new. The lute was as old as you can get. The Police tour was more than I could ever have hoped for...but it was not new. And this winter album is not new either. Good things come out of writer's block, though. That first period of writer's block lead to my favourite of his solo albums (The Soul Cages), and I am quite certain that if he had not had writer's block this time around, we would not have seen a Police reunion. So, I am all for Sting having writer's block from time to time! The only problem now is that he is not showing any signs of coming out of it. I hope he does, for his sake...and from a selfish perspective, like I have said in the past, I need to hear some new Sting-written material to keep me going. Is this Sting's way of saying he has writer's block? On Nov 27, 2009, at 8:16 AM, casimira@csail.mit.edu wrote:
