As far as PR people go, I imagine Sting feels a lot better w/o Miles around.  It's just a hunch, but it always seemed to me that Miles was a littel pushier/flashier about PR than Sting might have liked (though, he kept him around for 15 years or so... so I guess that might debunk that theory). With Miles out of the way, there's one Summers, one Sumner, and one Copeland, so it seems more even, potentially, and I guess I could see Miles as one sticking point why Sting wouldn't rejoin The Police.
Just my opinion, of course. Thoughts?

P.S. Might The Police just hire someone else entirely?

I sure hope the powers that be launch an official website at the same time!

On another note, since Miles doesn't "seem" to be managing this tour, do you think Sting's manager (PR person) Kathy Scheckner (sp?) is doing it? If so, I wonder how that sits with Stew and Andy?

For what it's worth, a contact of mine who works for Clear Channel said that
we should look out for The Police tour announcement the day after the
Grammy's. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but it matches up with what I
think many of us have begun to suspect over the last number of days, so it's
nice to hear additional "confirmation" from another source.

Cheers,

they really were.

~~Any of your familiar with the 'History Of Rock and
~~Roll' documentary? It was a 10-part series that was
~~made/came out in the early 1990s.
~~
~~Last week, VH-1-1 Classic aired all 10 episodes. While
~~the series is very interesting, I noticed that our
~~beloved band is hardly mentioned.
~~
~~Each episode in the series is about 50 minutes. Of
~~that total (some 7 or 8 HOURS), The Police rack up at
~~total of about 15 seconds - that being in the episode
~~on 'Punk', when new wave is discussed, with EBYT and
~~clips of the video being used as background music.
~~Nice, huh?!!!!
~~
~~I find this more amusing than infuriating. In my book,
~~The Police never have nor never will get the credit
~~they deserve. While a slight like this would have made
~~me insane previously, now I just laugh. I know where
~~they rank with me...that's all that matters...
