Ahhh, give me a break, the point is you say you are a musician, I asked you to list how is Oysterhead superior to Sting, you have no answer. Obviously even you are well aware of the superior arrangements and music in Sting. So what if Manu uses a click track? Manu was Zildjian's drummer of the year, the most respected manufacturer of cymbals. Do you really believe Zildjian would choose Manu if he weren't great? Your God, Stewart, used a click track while in the Police, what do you think is in the background of Walking in Your Footsteps, King of Pain, Synchronicity One on the Synchronicity concert. Vinnie Colauita and Omar Hakim, far better drummers than Stewart also used a click track. In fact, most drummers (outside of traditional jazz) in the music world today use some sort of drum machine or sequenced music, it's reality today! David, In all due respect nothing you say would impress me at this point, You have listed Manu, do you realize he is playing with a click track there? Where is the musicianship in that. I think at this point it is best to say we disagree at the most extreme ends, and that it is best to move onto another topic, for us and the list. You will never sway my thinking and I know I won't sway yours. Go Stewart!!!
take Care, Terrence Sheehan
PS. Brand New Day is Stings worst album to me, To you #3( I think that says it all)

The only musician that Oysterhead could be better for is maybe the drummer but then again, that is personal opinion. Some drummers might find Stewart too loud or one dimensional, others might find Manu too reserved.
Maybe to musicians in Iron Maiden and the rest of the Acid Rock crowd might prefer Oysterhead but real musicians, not of that hard rock garbage would automatically take a liking to Sting, and yes I say real musicians because most of that hard rock junk is one chord noise, NOT sophisticated musically and anywhere close to the complexity of Sting's music.
Brand New Day is a great album, in my top 3 of favorite Sting albums, I have followed Sting's music for a while and if you really believe the Oysterhead junk might trigger a Police reunion from Sting, you must be dreaming. Andy Summers has taken the sophisticated route, maybe Andy's solo stuff might nudge Sting into a reunion, but certainly not Oysterhead and with Stewart's comment about "F*ck the Police", I hope now there is never ever a Police reunion, I am shocked at him for saying that. Since you are a musician, please provide details in the chord structure, arrangement, lyrics, bridges (none of which exists in Oysterhead BTW), is superior to Sting.

We all have our opinions, but I would'nt criticize Stewart untill you see Oysterhead live, with Oysterhead the live performance is everything, If you have not seen them live then, you should have no opinion. I saw Sting on the BND tour shook his hand, I saw Oysterhead live, Oysterhead was by far the better show for the musician. If high cheekbones, stylish suites, Jaguar's and Computers are your bag, Sting is your man right now. If Jamming Music is your focus go see Oysterhead. I respect your right to your opinion, although I wonder how long you have been following Stings solo career, It has steadily declined from a great musical performance to a corporate computer showcase, where the seats go to the highest bidder. Sellout!! I know he will come around in time, then we will all be a happy family again.

What could be more disrespectful than Stewart saying in a recent interview "F**K the Police", Sting has never stooped to that low level. I was disappointed in Stewart and I certainly hope that he is enjoying the noise he is currently making with Oysterhead because a classy and real musician like Sting would never entertain the garbage Oysterhead is disguising as music. It seems Stewart is regressing to his Police punk days but even the punk days of the Police, the music still had some harmony to it. Come on, go to http://www.oysterhead.com and tell me where the music is because I am totally lost. The best thing there is the background music that is looped on the website. That group is in serious need for a songwriter.
Yes, the BND tour was over commercialized but at least it was still A1 music being performed.
This new album All This Time proves the naysayers that Sting IS still willing to take risks, even I did not believe the project would work but in the end, he succeeds brilliantly. The new arrangements are fantastic and the band incredible.
Anyone who knows anything about music would laugh at the comparison of Oysterhead and Sting, Sting is on such a higher level, give me a flickin break! Anyway, to each his own, enjoy the noise.

Oysterhead is new, original, from a musicians stand point " Nothing I've ever heard Live is better". Sting is a musical genius, I think all of these people appreciate that, !!! but Sting has shot himself in the foot
