Regarding the dropping of Next To You..I just got word that it might have been dropped in Edmonton because of a timing / noise regulation issue. This was the feeling from Jock who was at the show, but is certainly not official. It will be interesting to see if it comes back into the setlist again. Strange not to have a second encore. This makes me think Jock may have been correct. He looked like he was about to keel over after the fast tempo encore. They may have killed the song before it killed Sting! It's a shame 'cause it's a great closer. I'm not surprised that Don't Stand and De Do Do Do have improved - they honestly couldn't get worst! Those two and Every Little Thing to me didn't work. Some songs can stand to be toyed around with, but Every Little Thing lost all its power in the new version. Other re-workings such as Walking in Your Footsteps, Walking on the Moon, Invisible Sun and Wrapped worked really well. We're seeing them again in August - it will be interesting to see the changes and improvements from now till then. My wife Andrea and I were unfortunately feeling sick in Vancouver and were not able to fully appreciate the shows as much as we should have :-( _____ From: police-bounces+fredberthelot=earthlink.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces+fredberthelot=earthlink.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of David Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2007 2:44 PM To: Bruce Greenwood Cc: Police Mailing List Subject: Re: [Police] Edmonton Show They dropped "Next to You"? Ouch. Murder by numbers is one of my favs, but I can see that, but dropping their famous show-ender? eek. Thoughts? He said Truth Hits Everybody was back in the setlist and they dropped Murder By Numbers and Next To You. He also said they made lots of mistakes towards the end of the show, but it was still amazing. He also said both Don't Stand and De De Do Do were improved upon.
