Excellent show my friends! Really excellent. No surprises; an incredible voice, everybody was shocked! This is Sting voice at its best ... ...and I know what I say, as most of you know the first time I saw Sting singing was with the Police, and after tons of concerts I can say this was probably one of the best vocal performance. I spent some time with him, from the morning through the whole day, but I don't mean to stress you out about this... He's in Florence today and will be in Modena tomorrow; I'll drive there tomorrow and I wish to see a great show like the one I saw yesterday. No 'I Burn For You', that's what I really would love to listen to, but the setlist choice was good anyway, the 'general public' loved it, as well as I did. The so called 'front row' was the classic Italian one; we were all there, and I can tell we were all the wildest that followed him since the Police times....most of us have children, families, pain in the back, grey hair (NOT ME, I STILL DYE MY HAIR!!!) but the feeling was exactly the same we had more than 20 years ago. We all know each other and know how to 'play' with him; during the jam in Roxanne WE decided wich choirs to sing, and he couldn't do anything else than smile and follow our choirs. Same for Dominic, who did some riffs but gave up laughing and starting playing with our intention. A mistake at the end of 'Every Breath You Take' brought the whole band to move to nowhere, waiting for Sting to sort it out and of course he didn't failed...that comes out of years of experience and a good band supporting these kinda bizarre moments. Chris Botti did a marvellous opening act; I saw him already 6 times this year, and this guy is becoming someone......we'll see the BIG STEP very very soon. Tomorrow, in case I will have the chance to talk again to Sting, I want to ask him about this new forthcoming project (Broken Music Tour)...if he'd like to talk about; it seems there is a lot of mistery around, talking about it with technicians and band members...I'll get some more tomorrow...eheheh. Ciao ciao Giovanni
