I think it’s 1984, because :
In 1984 : i saw Van Halen live ! (31.08.1984, supporting AC/DC !)
In 1984 : I saw Supertramp Live, and before the show, they played the WHOLE Synchronicity album over the P.A. ! (just to get it right : NOT Supertramp played it, but the “Front Of House” - mixer played the Album !)
In 1984 : i felt in love with “Synchronicity”, that i missed it sooo much in my Summer Holidays...i had to buy a cassette in Italy!
In 1984 : i was listening to Genesis’s “Genesis” album the whole damn day ! (yes, i know : released in 1983, but swiss people sometime take a long time to realize some things...btw : “Genesis” - album also produced by Hugh Padgham !)
So, c’m on, it’s 1984 and i am 18 years old...;-) okay ?!

Yes, I was thinking the same a few days ago...I saw THE CULT in July as well, and I wish I could see VAN HALEN in Europe soon...but there is a reason for this as well: if there is still place and vibe for all those 'old' names, it means that nowadays bands and names aren't that big to leave no space, if you know what I mean...

Just a quick note which is only partially Police-related….
I’ve been lucky enough to see The Police a good number of times this summer and I have the good fortune of being able to see them 4 more times in October and November when they return to North America. In addition, the other concerts I have seen this summer have been Rush, Genesis, and Van Halen (I just came back from seeing Van Halen about 20 minutes ago and my ears are still ringing). So what year is this again? Is it possible that it’s 2007? Less than a year ago if I were to have said that I was going to see The Police, Rush, Genesis, and Van Halen in one summer people would have asked where I park my time machine!!!!
Now…if I could only get to Led Zeppelin next month in the UK…..J
