Agreed, and that's why I felt bad saying it. They've all grown musically, and I guess I have too. I do appreciate all of their solo work, some more than others, but I just wanted THEM back on at least the ONE song I was really longing to hear as the Police! Again, happy as a clam, but there's just that one nagging frustration! I'll even ignore the other "Stingified" songs, I just want "Voices" back!
A positive (kinda replacement) for me.... I've been a fan of Fiction Plane for over 5 years, and if this tour sends them touring on their own like madmen, I'm totally good with that. (You believe me now, Chris O., right?) The Police can "Stingify" all the songs they want. FP definitely fills the void in my rebellious/insecurity filled lyric area! Chris, (from the earlier post) how did you like them? Saturday night's Plaza gig was the best I've ever seen from them. Miles better than what I saw Monday, but that may have everything to do w/the crowd/venue. I can't wait to see them in small venues again (easier on the wallet too!)
I just downloaded the boot from TPT from the rehearsal, I can't wait to give it a listen so I can really recollect my thoughts!

In listening to the aud recording of the rehersal show, I have the same
view. I think a good few of the songs have been reworked to such a point
that the defining line between solo sting and the police, is somewhat
blurred. DTSSCTM sounded somewhat 86ish, and was similar to the way Sting
played it on tour down here a number of years ago.
But having said that I am now 20 plus years on from when I saw them in 1984
at the Sydney and Melbourne shows, and my taste in music has grown
appreciably since then. Maybe as musicans they have grown as well! and their
arrangements are reflective of their ages and tastes.
Cheers from down here
