The other part of it is that the scalpers bought thousands and thousands of tickets with the expectation that they would be able to unload them for a killing. Then, in numerous cities, The Police added additional dates after the first show sold out. Toronto is a prime example..scalpers bought tonnes of tickets for the first show on the July 22nd...then the 2nd show on the 23rd went on sale....and they've added a 3rd show in November and now a fourth one as well! Any normal person that was not lucky to get tickets for the first night likely got tickets for the second night. And if they didn't, they are not likely to buy tickets from scalpers when they can easily get tickets from Ticketbastard for a show in November. While it's frustrating to see so many tickets available, especially when you are trying to unload one, I am SO pleased that the scalpers are finally getting their just deserts! After years of being humped by them so many times this situation really makes me smile. And just to clarify....when I say "scalper" I am referring to the jerks that purchase tickets in volume with the intent to sell them for a profit - I am NOT referring to anyone on this list that has extra tickets to sell. That is a totally different situation, and I feel badly for you if you are unable to get rid of extra tickets...and I know what it's like - I gave away a $250 ticket to the 3rd Vancouver show because I could not sell it. Cheers, Bruce P.S. The shows in Toronto and Montreal have been fantastic. Each night they have changed arrangements to songs....bit by bit they are evolving, for sure. Footsteps has morped substantially since the first shows in Vancouver, and the difference between Footsteps last night in Montreal and the Toronto shows was huge. De Do Do Do is now substantially better and can remain in the setlist as far as I am concerned now :) And there were changes to So Lonely and others as well. Very cool. -----Original Message----- From: police-bounces+bruce.greenwood=rogers.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces+bruce.greenwood=rogers.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of David Lucky Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2007 1:52 PM To: police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Police] NYC shows I should add that part of the problem, at least I am guessing, is that The Police are playing the huge Giants stadium and that show is still not sold out and its a week away. you can still get even the $250 level seats on the 100s on ticketmaster. Its tough to off load tickets on ebay etc if even at face value the show isnt sold out. I hope they selll it out as that has more buzz, press interest to it etc. David L. _______________________________________________ Police mailing list Police@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/police
