Well here is my review of the Camden concert last night. Dominic Miller opened up with a few acoustic songs, sorry I am not sure what they were but it was very enjoyable. Nice beautiful night on the Delaware River to hear some great music. Sting came out and sang Shape of my Heart with Dominic which sounded perfect. The Sting introduced Annie Lennox. Can I just say Annie Lennox rocks! I don’t know too much of her music other than her popular hits, but I will be buying her new cd today. Some of her more familiar songs she sang last night were, No More I Love You’s, Missionary Man, Here comes the rain again (played very slow on the piano), Sweet Dreams, Walking on Broken Glass. Then after a quick set change, Sting came on at 9:30pm. Opened with a techno version of Send Your Love, (eh, nothing to write home about) Synchronicity II (very shocked to hear this but loved it) Inside We’ll be together- with Annie, This was great, the highlight of the night..they really sound awesome together. I would have liked to hear them on No More I love you’s together. Sting even said “Wasn’t that f****n great?” afterwards. Dead Man's Rope Fragile – this is when I started to get a little freaked out, no encore of Fragile? What is going on? Fields of Gold- same old arrangement as usual Whenever I say your name- with Joy Rose, very very good, almost better than the Mary J Blige version Sacred Love – after this song a mass exodus started which really shocked me. I couldn’t believe all the people that packed it up and started heading out. Not sure if it was like that inside, I sat on the lawn. Englishman in NY Roxanne with a few lines of King of Pain tossed in- ( Been there done that) Never Coming Home- This was really cool, the second half of the song was done to the arrangement of When the World. That ended the first set at 10:45, yes I said 10:45 a whopping hour and fifteen minutes! First Encore: Desert Rose If I ever lose my faith Every Breath Second Encore: 11:00 pm A Thousand Years. Other than some banter in the beginning he didn’t really speak to the crowd. There were some highlights of the night, but I was surprised how short the concert was. Including 2 encores it was an hour and a half. Thank god the weather was beautiful and the Yuengling was flowing! -Heather
