Hi everybody from Giovanni; the dj they mention is called ODIEPUS, and Andy Summers thanked him also at the Hall Of Fame personal speech.
The lagend wants that HE started it all, playing Roxanne a lot of times in his radio show on a local radio station; day by day all of the other radio stations heard it and wanted to have a copy as well to be played on their radio shows...and from that the rest is history.

Ciao ciao

Blender magazine has a section called "The Greatest Songs Ever" and the song
they chose  the March 2005 issue was Roxanne. It's an interesting article,
and I wondered who the DJ in Austin Texas was that helped our boys become
famous. Does anyone know? Is it for real? What other bands did he discover,
if any?

I don't remember if this has been posted here before, but here is the link
to the article.
