I think the response of Itunes is just too late. They never thought ahead to charge for music from the beginning on the internet, to set a precedent. I don't think there is any going back now, because as we've all seen, no matter what controls they try to put in place on the internet, there is always someone to outsmart it.
People need to be accountable, theft is theft. If someone was stealing from you, you wouldn’t accept it just because you didn’t notice it right away. The record company for right or for wrong have provided a medium to counter the complaints on prices, and on choice. I understand that people felt shafted for a while and that’s what drove them to the Napsters of the world, but now they have a legal and reasonable alternative, and they should use it.
