Hello
everyone,
No
point rehashing what others have said. The band was great to see live. But here
are a few additional opening night concert comments and
expectations:
1.
Fiction Plane was great; their new CD hasn't grabbed me in like their earlier
one, but I really enjoy the song live. Big difference. Surprised no one has
mentioned them in their reviews.
2. The
video production company doing the multimedia was horrible. (I can say this
because I work in the industry!) The video screens would go to black constantly.
The video crew didn't record or broadcast an entire song ("Murder By Numbers");
I felt bad for the people at the back of the venue who relied on the video
monitors so see the band. I expected much more professionalism when it came to
the production of the concert. At point point they flashed a black and white
still image of a clock with Stewart's face up on the screens at the wrong time.
It was suppose to be done on the next song being played. Obviously someone
pushed the wrong button. For the money spent, I expected a better performance
out of the production crew. Very disappointed.
3.
Stewart's use of the extra, big, incredible drum set was awesome. "Wrapped
Around Your Finger" and "Walking In Your Footsteps" were highlights because of
Stewart's extra work with the big drums!
4. The
Police '07 were all about highlighting Andy's guitar work. Sting summarized it
all during "So Lonely" when he sang 'welcome to the Andy Summer's
show'.
That
is all for now.
Cheers, Jon
