I haven't seen it here in the USA; however, I did catch Sting's version of "Someone to Watch Over Me" in a repeat episode of 'Alias' last night. In America, a smorgasbord is something you usually find in a casino and is
a restaurant where all the food (and almost all kinds of food) is put out on tables and you serve yourself and eat until you can eat no more. You normally leave so full that you are the king of pain. after many people could help me with the "Marco Polo" game I've got another question. I've heard a certain word in several American movies and now just again in Sex & the City. That's SMORGASBORD. What's that???

I'm from Sweden and we're quite proud of the two Swedish words in the egnlish language, wich are: "Smorgasbord" and "girdle" (smorgasbord and gordel in Swedish. I guess the word is quite hard to explain and that's why the Swedish word is used instead of an english word. But it's a kind of
a
bufe with bread and butter and other stuff ;-) If I would translate it directly it would be sandwich for smorgas and table for bord, so sandwichtable would be the english word for it (that doesn't exist, why didn't they think of that?)
I hope that answers the question, Patrik

Hello everybody! I know Stewart Copeland should come to Italy as well, but I don't know if this has been already confirmed; I don't know the date or anything else, = but I will keep you all updated. Ciao ciao Giovanni

Hi folks,
as Toni already mentioned Stewart Copeland will perform in London on July 18.
In addition, there's another date in the UK (taken from http://www.billbruford.com/news.html#dates):
July 18 Royal Festival Hall, London. (Rhythmsticks Series, with Stewart Copeland) July 20 Brighton Dome, Brighton (Brighton Festival, with Stewart Copeland)
And for the German subscribers: I was told that Stewart will be in Ibbenb=FCren-Laggenbeck on Monday, July 22, to give some autographs at Germany's biggest music store "Musik Produktiv".
Cheers, R=FCdiger

Great topic! Let's see if we can't kick some life back into this 'lurk-mode' list, shall we?
From the top of my head I would say "The Wild Wild Sea".
The studio version is one of my all time favourites and I think they are some of the best lyrics he - or anyone else, for that matter - has ever written.
And still he managed to make it even more magical played live! The version
on "Acoustic Live in Newcastle" is a textbook example of dynamics and a group
of musicians playing as one entity.
That's as far as I can explain it - the song has always struck a special chord within me that I can't explain. All I know is that listening to live versions of it still gives me the chills!
Anyone else feel the same way about this song, or is it just me?
Mikkel
