I agree, Manu was boring, almost dead, Vinnie is IMO, the greatest drummer to have played with Sting with or without the Police!

His playing was amazing and as I stood there and absorbed the moment, I had shivers up and down my spine. Stewart was the one who confirmed it for me that I was actually listening to The Police. While I thought Andy was great, and Sting was his usual Stingness, Stew brought back the old Police feel. He is instantly identifiable because he is so amazing. I'll take intensity and passion over much-ado-about-Manu any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

If Stewart only wants to "shows the world that he loves playing drums" instead of playing music, fine, I certainly do not need that kind of player in my band. Question to you, what if all Sting and Andy decided to do was show off their bass playing, vocal and guitar skills, what would have happened? Total destruction of the song my friend. Stewart took advantage very well on "showing off" appropriately during Roxanne, and I am sure during Message, but he should have put the integrity of the band first and play with more finesse during Every Breath. The man is probably the best hi-hat player I know and I do believe he is an incredible drummer but there was so much more he could have done to show he was more about class and show the world that outside of the jamming hard, the Police could also sail or cruise with finesse and class! He is not a child, class musicians under such pressure and excitement maintain control, the way Sting and Andy did! > M wrote:>=====Fabricio and Trini
