I know I will buy it just because I'm nostalgic, something I think STin(g)(k) has become, I don't think any of the people who are singing the praise of Oysterhead need to have their head examined. Oysterhead is new, original, from a musicians stand point " Nothing I've ever heard Live is better". Sting is a musical genius, I think all of these people appreciate that, !!! but Sting has shot himself in the foot in my opinion, he is consistantly acting like an ego maniac, he thinks he is everything and a bowl of rice. He has treated his former band mates with much disrespect. Anyone who has followed Sting from the beggining must be disappointed with his behavior and music. Need I mention that everytime I turn on the TV I am ready to puke at this monster he has become. Pop sellout, Commercial Sellout, Designer Sellout, need I go on, Sting has lost musical appeal, that was why I was a fan!!!! I wonder If some of you really know the musician Sting is? I wonder how he could move into this Nsync Pop Icon role? Whenever I am disheartened, I submerse myself into my vast vault of Police/Sting before BND and I forget the computerized rhythms of a brand new day!!! Like I said before Go Stewart!! I Predict Sting forms a Police reunion within a few years. ( this is what I think will happen). Right now Sting is pop's Grandpa, Stewart is Rocks Elder!!!! Yeah, the whole thing sucks pretty badly. I can't stand the beautiful and unusual version of Don't Stand So Close to Me that segues into When We Dance, and I should obviously have my ears checked because I love the new arrangement of Roxanne. As for The Hounds of Winter, I like the version on this CD better than the original--obviously I need my head examined.
Why don't you listen to the CD before making up your mind?
Clarissa
by the way, fellow campers: i was in a tower records on wednesday and picked up ALL THIS TIME: i wanted to see the track listing and got as far as song #5 before i threw the cd down and ran out in a screaming fit! obviously, i had a flashback to the tour de force BND shows that i saw/read about here. long live oysterhead!
