Don, I agree, I also miss the "NEW" redo-touch on most songs. Highlights though are All this time, Hounds, Mad, and Roxanne. The rest is just a bit re-arranged or not even new. "Dont stand..." he did already some time ago on a Fan Club session with Dominic. So why did he do it, despite Sept. 11? Dont take me wrong: for the lucky attendees of the tuscany show the DVD/CD will be a great value and boost their memories each time they listen to it. But for the rest? What about all these items coming around the show and the CD, DVD, Singles, TV tapes (= DVD show), Webcast, appearance at footbal events, Webchat, and nice different country versions? What is so "rearranged" on Seven Days?? Cant hear it. Of course, it might have to do with money. The new PR manager needs to get paid, or, although being british, he may like the new EURO that much that he tries to collect of it as much as possible, hehe... He once said: One album brings a kid thru school. How many kids at a school age does he have left?Hopefully one or two. I would love to hear new stuff, and I would love to see a new show WITHOUT Fragile at the end. I fear I will now always link Fragile with Sept. 11th. Is that what I want in all Sting shows to come? I dont know... For me, the nicest NEW thing that comes with the album so far was the Demo version of Desert rose, which I keep on playing as much as I did the original version, well, 2 years ago... I was pretty happy with the Webcast that was availbale later, and I was caught by my senses that I should not have bought the CD... Should I be a happy camper if I get the DVD for XMas?? Technically with 5.1 sound, it must be good, but is that it? My little share for this year. Since I do not post often: thanks to all who contribute with reviews and little bits of info, the list remains a great source for news and laughter!! Well, here is my opinion: The CD starts off fine with Fragile and A Thousand Years, however Perfect Love and All This Time seem a bit unspirited. Seven Days is a nice bonus track, and Hounds of Winter is by far one of the top 3 tracks on the album. From there on however, I find it hard to listen to. When the original idea for a Sting live CD with 'new versions' was floated around the group, I was looking for songs with reworks similar to Fragile. I often look for songs that are redone -- for example the version of Jeremiah Blues Sting did on the Soul Cages tour was awesome. With this CD however, I get a reworking of songs with a jazz twist put on them. A good bit of this CD doesn't seem very new or fresh at all. Fields of Gold for one seems not new or different at all. At one point I believe that he just picks up where the Brand New Day tour set left off. I just can't get excited about this CD. It seems to be missing something. The only thing I'm excited about is that his touring is over and that maybe by Spring/Summer of 2003 a new album will be coming out. I can only hope that he is totally burned out on BND material and that a new tour with a new album would produce some OTHER songs that he plays on tour (Synchronicity II, Be Still My Beating Heart, etc.) Anyone else feel this way?
