Hi Dietmar, Isn't the DVD version the same as the one that was shown in the theaters? I would think that the VHS showed a little less at the side. And it's got some bonus material - well, a little. But the old version - although inferior in quality - showed more of the picture. The new DVD is enhance for 16:9 TV and the old VHS / Laserdisc version had a 4:3 aspect ratio. So you see a little bit more at the top and at the bottom of the picture. Dietmar
