I can tell you Stewart has lots of sheet music next to him when he rehearse for a gig or when he writes stuff; I've been on rehearsal hours and hours with him and for sure he reads when he plays and he does that a lot; when he's in fron tof the public he doesn't, thank to hours in front of sheet music.
