That hasn't got anything to do with the region code. Many music DVDs are in NTSC - even if they are region code or region free.
It's quite possible that all Synchronicity DVDs are in fact NTSC copies.

Mine plays in Black & White,  as does Bring On The Night.  Both bought in UK is it to do with my TV being only PAL compatable and not NTSC?
