Lip synching is very common in German TV shows. Why? Most of the TV producers will tell you that playing live is too much work and lip synching is the easier way for both the artist and the TV crew. Most of the times the singer will only pretend that he's actually singing - so the audience won't hear him (there are exceptions however - I remember a very, very bad Enrique Iglesias recording on the internet which is supposed to be taken from a show where he was lip synching. Someone from the crew recorded his very.strange performance: http://www.madsb.com/enrique/indexeng.htm (I have warned you!)) I hadn't seen him standing before either. Also, when Sting is lip synching, (and obviously not playing the bass) are Andy and Stewart really playing? How does that work with a live audience? Do they hear two sets of drums, Andy and Sting's voice? I don't think I've ever seen him do that before. Gary
