Hey....interesting point, but I really don't see the connection between Sting winning and the industry catering to the target 13 year old audience. If anything, they would have given the award to that Pearl Harbor song or Enya song, as one features a currently popular country/pop singer and goes along with Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett's respective muggs, and Enya is riding a wave of popularity right now. (not to mention that Lord of the Rings is HUGE). I find it a little surprising that Sting won, but not entirely, because even though he isn't largely popular with the desired youth market (as was evident with the My VH1 awards where he came in dead last in voting), he's still popular with the older crowd.
I don't think it's a matter of being 'fixed' as it is that the voters from the Hollywood Foreign Press and other related award shows tend to be a little older than the MTV crowd and more set in their musical tastes.....and they always seem to favor Sting. (And that's perfectly fine with me!)
