Well the reunion certainly piqued my interest in the list again. Lets
hope the Grammys doesn't turn out to be another "Hall of Fame" one-off.
The critic in me is a bit disappointed that the Police may be getting
back together. The fact that I got shafted by my sister when they came
to town for "Ghost in the Machine" and I was too young to travel for
concerts during "Synchronicity" contributed to my enjoyment angst of The
Police. I am delighted to be given another chance, but I fear a "Sex
Pistols" style reunion lacking any form of energy from three old men,
and I just
rolled the odometer at 40!
I just can't imagine Sting getting in fights with the audience at this
stage and that kind of youthful anger was 50% of what I enjoyed about
The Police. If they play "Sally" during the Grammys, I'll know I am
wrong. Lets hope there is a sliver of punk left in the boys because I'm
not up for "artistic stylings" and jazzy refrains.
That said, can anyone get tickets for the Grammys? 16 years slaving
over a hot mailing list ought to be worth something.
