Interestingly, track n. 10 is "Ray Dawn Balloon", a beautiful, slower, instrumental version of Oysterhead's "Radon Balloon" (which Anastasio wrote). Ciao Michele

I should mention that along with the 20 minutes of talking with the members there are two songs live from the LA show where Les tells the audience that Janes addiction is playing down the street. The songs sound great

But her London run in "Up for Grabs" by Australian playwright David Williamson is critic-proof -- the show has already sold out and tickets are changing hands on the black market for over 10 times face value. Celebrity friends, from fellow singer Sting to fashion designer Stella McCartney, rallied round after Thursday's glittering first night to praise the world's most famous female pop star for taking to the stage. "She was wonderful," Sting told reporters. The audience too were certainly in awe of her -- Madonna was greeted with whoops of delight at curtain-up. But next day the critics were distinctly lukewarm. "Madonna fails to shine," decreed the Guardian. "Mechanical Girl distorts the message of soft-centered satire," said The Independent. The play's sex scenes certainly raised a few eyebrows in the auditorium. Playing a voracious art dealer out to bump up the price of a Jackson Pollock painting, Madonna was locked in a passionate lesbian embrace with a prospective client in one scene and strapped on a giant sex aid to service a corpulent billionaire buyer in another. London has lately been attracting a steady stream of Hollywood stars from Nicole Kidman to Gwyneth Paltrow and Matt Damon, eagerly accepting stage roles in Britain to boost their acting credentials back home.

After looking for the DVD on the Brazilian website and ordering and waiting... I found the disc here in Dortmund in my local shop for less money. To anyone interested: they still have 5 or 6 DVDs for just 23 €. Dietmar

Andrea! I AM GOING TO BE THERE!!!!!!!!! On vacation in London and Ireland for two weeks at the beginning of June!!! I will go and get a bunch of CDs. I'm sure other people will want some. This is soooo cool. Thanks for the info. I'll try to get tickets (or whatever) right now. I was really hoping that Dominic would be playing while we are there, but Factory X will be great as well. A few Oysterhead comments

CDnow.com did an interview with Trey Anastacio from Oysterhead. A few comments are about Stew: Speaking of Oysterhead, are there any plans to record another album with those guys? I would love to. I really loved that album. And I loved being on tour with those guys; they're both just great people to hang around with. Though it was tough going on the road with only one album's worth of material. I hadn't done it in so long, I had forgotten what it was like. Any idea when Oysterhead might record again? No, just that we want to do something. Stewart always says it's his favorite band because it's all the fun of being in a rock band without all the headaches of having to plan. And if you've read this far.. here's a little something..... I finally got my "Ghost" faces tattoo. I was waiting until the tattoo artist I like came back from maternity leave. Anyway, I'm thrilled with it, though my husband thinks it's funny every night to say, "Hey babe, you've got something on your back." Maggie (sharing more information than appropriate, as always).
