Hi all, As far as I know,it was indeed "our" Andy who worked on the "Weekend At Bernie's" soundtrack. I'm delighted to hear about this project with Vinx,Stanley Clarke and Joe Satriani.Joe is my second favourite guitarist (you don't have to ask who the first is:)),and to have him and Stewart working together is very exciting. Hi, I have for sale one of the most sought after Sting live CDs. It's called: "ALL THEASE TIME - UNPLUGGED REHEARSALS + COMPLETE LIVE (ITS 1008/9)". Here's some information on the recordings: Recorded on 5 March 1991 in New York this 2 CD set features one of the most intimate recordings of Sting ever to have surfaced. CD 1 includes over 72 minutes of rehearsals for the "Unplugged" tv special. The rehearsals are without an audience and feature some very nice and sometimes unusual arrangements and try outs of well known tunes. CD 2 is nearly 70 minutes long and includes the complete uncut tv special as it was never shown! Some takes are false starts + the band records quite a number of songs that weren't included in the final screening. The source for both CDs is an excellent sounding stereo inline recording - in perfect quality! Trudy's video ...? (and hello!)

I was just wondering, does anyone know anything about the video that Trudy was meant to be making about Sting and his work? I remember it being discussed at the time of the Emperor's New Groove soundtrack. I really enjoyed the interviews etc. on the All This Time DVD. It's fascinating to watch the songs come together in the rehearsals and I'd love to see more of that process :-) While I'm on, I may as well put in my vote for Perfect Love...Gone Wrong. I really liked it the first time I heard it - witty lyrics, jazzy groove, wicked piano solo, that voice ("I howl all night, and I sleep all day" - magic!) - some of the things I like most about Sting :-) By the way, this is my first post to this list (which I've been "lurking" on for years now, on and off. Sting in People AGAIN!

Great little article with a color pic of Sting and Trudie in formal attire -- it was Elton John's AIDS benefit, and it was called the "white tie and tiara gala" or something. Sting wore white tie with a medal around his neck. When asked if it was from the Queen, Trudie said, "No, it's from Coco, and it's a medal for being the world's best daddy!" I didn't see a tiara on Trudie, either. There was also a celebrity auction, and someone won a Yoga lesson from Sting at his California home for $30,000. Oh, if I could just win one little lottery.... ;-) Have a great week, Holly

As the former frontman of legendary pop/punksters The Police, acclaimed songwriter of three solo albums, social and environmental activist, and movie star, Sting slips quite easily into the category of pop icon. But his relaxed and genial performance Monday night belied any evidence of a self-absorbed superstar. In fact, Sting opened his show by introducing another artist to the crowded house at the Hampton Coliseum, a vocalist/percussionist named Vinx. Beating tribal rhythms on a pair of unusual bongolike drums, Sting's protege sang soulful a cappella in a ranging, husky voice similar to his mentor's. Sting and his four-piece band then took the stage, awash in multicolored lighting, and launched into the catchy All This Time from Sting's new release, The Soul Cages. The singer's voice is still innately expressive but has mellowed with a new resonance, especially effective on slower, soul-probing numbers such as Why Should I Cry For You? and Fortress Around Your Heart. Sting is a versatile songwriter, and his superb band easily pulled off the dynamism required of his material. Dominic Miller provided chiming guitar parts and careful, well-placed solos. Vince Colaiuta's articulate drumming, wonderfully gentle when necessary, meshed with Sting's able bass playing for an often jazzlike rhythmic foundation. Keyboardist/guitarist David Sancious offered a plethora of synthesized string, wind, piano and organ parts. He proved to be a flamboyant fireball of a keyboard soloist during Jeremiah Blues and a cover of Ain't No Sunshine, and he traded guitar licks with Miller in a stellar rendition of Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze.
