As all of you are well aware, the R&R HoF induction ceremony will take
place tonight (US eastern time) in New York. This marks the first public
performance of the Police in seventeen years (since '86). And no matter
how hopeful and optimistic you are of a major (or minor) reunion tour, I
think we all know deep down that this will almost certainly be the last
time the group performs together as a trio (at least that's how I feel).
If anyone from this list has tickets to the performance in hand and will
definitely be attending tonight, then my hat is off to you and I hope you
have a great time. You should also know that I'm very jealous! To the
folks on the list who are going to the Waldorf hotel tonight without
tickets in hand but are hoping to manage to see the show or hear the
performance or catch a glimpse of the band or just be present for the
reunion, I wish you the best of luck. I wish I could be there but I live
too far away. As for everyone else, I know that we are all looking
forward to the VH-1 broadcast on March 16!
Anyone who does see the show or has access to reliable info, please let
the rest of us know how many songs are played (4 would be great!). Please
share you experience with the rest of us. Since tonight might very well
be the final Police performance ever, let's all celebrate this milestone
in Police history!
Sincerely,
Brian Thompson
