the DVD - Video quality?

I've heard people complaining about the fact that Universal have downmixed the 5.1 sound into stereo, and not doing a very good job of it, but what do people think about the video quality? The case had a sticker on mentioning something about "every video having colour restoration...." (Except Every Breath You Take of course!).... But they haven't bothered cleaning up the dust and scratches from the videos... they're worse than my VHS copy! Very disappointing - If it wasn't for the fact that I'd opened it, I'd send it back for a refund. Nice to see Dave & Wendy in the sleeve note credits though... :) J. I think you only hear it if you have a 5.1 system - that's been the general consensus. If you're like me, and don't, then yes - it's missing. Along with lots of other stuff from other videos. Hello, I posted two new songs today at <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/sting2police/">http://www.geocities.com/sting2police</A> The first song is "Mad About You" from MTV Unplugged. The second song is "You Still Touch Me" live from MF tour. I think that it is from the TFI (TIF) CD that came out in 96. I bought the album years ago in Paris and I have not been able to find it for sometime. I believe that there were only four tracks on the album. think that Sunset, Message, Touch me, and Let Your Soul were on it? Anyway, enjoy the weekend, Sean

Hi everybody! I once had a videotape of a (I think French) TV-show featuring Sting and Yossou N'Dour performing The Beatles "Obladi Oblada" together. To my recollection this was around the Mercury Falling era, but it could've been TST to. Would anyone who has this be willing of making me an MP3 of it? I've lost the tape but I think I thought it was great. Question #2: what else Beatles-songs have Sting (or the Police for that matter) covered except the one mentioned, "Penny Lane" and "A day in life"? Cheers, Patrik

Off the top of my head..... He performed "Blackbird" during a show in Las Vegas in 1993 - Ten Summoner's Tales era. It's on the Ain't No Sunshine live CD. In a few live versions of Hendrix's "Little Wing" during the ...Nothing Like The Sun tour, he went into the chorus of "From Me To You": "If there's anything that you want, if there's anything I can do, just call on me and I'll send it along with love from me to you..." Crazy overdub on "Very Best Of" Second Edition

OK, so being the completist that I am (as most of you who know me on a personal level know), I had to buy the revised "Very Best Of" collection several months ago when it was released in the US. And it's strange that I didn't notice the following until last night. (I thought I was just exhausted at the time and hearing things... or that my car was acting up on me again) Track 12 on the CD is the LP version of "Brand New Day." If you advance to 2:38/2:39 during the song, right at the start of the line, "I say, love is such a force..." you'll hear something crazy. In one ear, I hear: *I say* love is such a force... (the way we know it from the Brand New Day album) In the other ear, I hear: *But this* love is such a force... (a bad overdub that sounds like it wasn't mixed properly during post-production) For others that have this collection, let me know if you hear the same thing.
