AMEN! I hope Kipper is in music jail somewhere! I personally love the lute album because I enjoy that kind of music, and Sting thrown into the mix is a bonus for me. Have you heard any of it? I'm sure most of it is available online somewhere.
So you and I will keep the faith and wait for October!
Have a great weekend!

Oh don't get me wrong. The folk songs sound like a neat idea (I haven't gotten the lute album yet, though), but I was just hoping for truly originally material. Maybe he's just keeping it under wraps for now? I don't know. I would think that he'd want to come off the starting line form the Police with a big hit, like he with DotBT.
Time will tell, though. At least it isn't over-produced techno-pop like that earlier one. For that I am truly thankful.

Sounds like an interesting project, but it’s been SIX YEARS since his last original studio album….

I am looking forward to hearing the songs on this album. I do have the lute album and it is good, although I would never listen to it as much as his solo or Police work. It is different and I respect Sting for taking these "journeys" into areas that are beyond the pop/rock genre. I do wish that there were some new songs...the two songs written by Sting appearing on the album are "Lullaby for an Anxious Child" and "The Hounds of Winter," both of which were previously released. I am interested to see if there is a different take on these and Gabriel's Message or if the original recordings are just being rereleased on this album.
Bye!

Oh, I think I'm a fan. Of REAL Sting music.
But that's the great thing about music, everyone likes something different. I haven't liked anything Sting has done in the past 7ish years except the Police tour.

The Danish National Geographic Channel will air a programme called "My
Music Brain" on Sunday at 8 PM CET - and apparently Sting plays a
starring role in the programme.
More info - including photos and an interview - at
http://www.natgeochannel.co.uk/programmes/my-music-brain. According to
that page, it will air on Tuesday in the UK - so check your local schedule.
