I got my code for Minneapolis and I'm supposed to be on a plane tomorrow during the pre-sale! I told my wife that the future of our marriage depends upon her getting to her computer and getting us tix tomorrow. I'm secretly hoping for a weather delay so I'm stuck in the airport at 10. By the way, today's Star Tribune has an awesome full-page concert poster on the back of Section A. Have other cities been doing this? Stew's comment about backing vocals

What do you all make of Stewarts comments about backing vocals for the police tour. If you recall at the press conf he listed 3 choices as follows: (1) the 2 of them (meaning Stew and Andy); (2) three backing singers (some girls andhe had a phrase for it) and (3) The Samples. The crowd clearly went for just the band which I am all for it. Very excited about no horns, backing vocals and just the 3 of them. Uncluttered and focused and about the music. Anyway, what did he mean by the samples. Did he mean the band the Sample - who I have seen live a number of times who I always thought sounded very Police like in terms of the vocals and the drumming. Or did he mean the samples as in samples of music like digital samples. Thoughts... David Lucky

andy's guitar preamp

does anyone know what preamp is/was in andy's telecaster? i'm assuming since it was the early 70's when the preamp was put in, that preamps as such, for internal guitar mounts, weren't common place and that it was a retro fit from say an MXR micro amp pedal, or something of that nature. the reason i ask is that i am building an andy tele copy and would like to make it as exact as possible. thanks t

More presale codes, Sting on PBS

This morning they released some additional codes through the Best Buy reward zone program. I got my code for Dallas. There were codes for about 6 additional cities but I did not get to see which ones and now it won't let me log on to see it. It just gives me the code I already asked for. So if any of you were waiting for codes you may want to check it out and see if your code is out there. I also got to watch a little bit of the PBS special last night. It was very enjoyable and gives you some insight into the reason Sting decided to make this, his thoughts on John Dowland (he says he was the first British pop icon, haha) and some beautiful scenery where he made videos for the songs. They had this beautiful sort of swing set. It was two chairs, facing opposite directions that spin around. I want something like that when I get a house. Sting on PBS tonight, Police in Rolling Stone Magazine

Just a reminder that Sting is doing his lute thing on PBS' Great Performances tonight. I got my new issue of Rolling Stone today (it's fre with my Rock Hall membership!) and there was a large-type subtitle on the cover that said, "The Police Reunite". Unfortunately, there is nothing new inside. there is a small blurb-type article in their rock'n'roll news section and some Grammy pix, not much else. Very disappointing, actually. Does anyone know when the Philly tix go on sale? If that venue is not confirmed, how about Columbus (my next closest city)? Have a great week everyone! Holly
