Hey all! I didnt have the fortune to catch the superbowl this year. I have finally downloaded Sting and Gwen's performance. . . I....dont really know what to say......I have heard her sing her stuff and she sounds pretty good. However, I am the last person who should say anything but......maybe she should stick to her stuff. I got shivers down my spine....it was like fingernails on a chalkboard. Awwwwwggggghhhhhhh....<shiver> Jane ps Sting sounded awesome. When he hits those high notes it sends shivers down my spine too...but I like it hee hee!

Hi Maggie What you heard was the awful cover version of Don't Stand So Close To Me, with some muppet trying to sound like Sting (and he fails to do so!) When The World... would be the DifferentGear Version. A lot of mail order companies are fooled by these Cover versions...except for us hard Police Fans! ;-) Cheers, Craig

Andrea, Steve and I saw Fiction Plane a couple of weeks ago at CBGB's. They are excellent. We saw them there almost two years ago, but this time around they were really outstanding. All of the new songs sounded great. They're all excellent musicians. Joe looks and sounds eerily like his father at times (reminds me of the jumpsuit era). But Joe is much more physically aggressive than Sting ever was (they push each other off the stage, jump onto the drum set...) Their album comes out March 11... hey! yeah, i just got Blender and forgot to post this story. Blender does this every month,, examining a band's entire catalog. article names 'ghost' as the best police record, and the remaining 4 studio records get a grade of "good" or better. BOTN & DOTBT each get a poor grade - ???? Phil Sutcliff wrote the piece. for those of you familiar with the "Behind he Music" the vh-1 did, phil was in there, taking stewart to see sting for the 1st time - this when sting in last exit, stewart in newcastle with curved air. Police/Sting in March Blender

I was reading the March issue of Blender and I came across the band we love most, The Police. In every issue, they rate albums that the artists have done and mention books about them and so on. I don't know if I agree with their list because they say that Ghost is the best Police album as well as other choices that I do not agree with. They list Brand New Day as a must-have and they even put MF at the top of the list, (I know that many on this list dislike that album, but I don't). Also, at the end of the mag, they talk about that new Police DVD that showcases a 1979 performance. Any magazine that has the Police in it is worth having and of course all of the women can look at the pictures of Sting. PS They even rate some of Andy's albums (not good though). Take care

Earlier this week, on a Los Angeles radio station that plays disco/dance music at night, I stumbled across a remix of Don't Stand So Close and When the World. Actually, the Don't Stand version did not sound like Sting singing, so I don't know exactly what it was. When the World was definitely Sting. Don't Stand sort of blended into the beginning of When the World. Wasn't too impressed with either one. A remix of a Hall and Oats song followed When the World, and it sounded just the same. Maggie
