i'm down for giving the list another chance... :) i've been listening mostly to whatever i'm forced to listen to at the radio station i work at. recent ones of interest include: -808 state (!?!?) - outpost transmission -deadly avenger - deep red -ghost cauldron - invent modest fires (highly recommended) -afro-mystik - morphology -prefuse 73 - one word extingusher -swag - no such thing amongst others... otherwise, i'm also listening to a lot of: -autechre - draft 7.30 -gescom - iss:sa ep (megamix is the fucking best) -royksopp - melody am (still...) -vincent gallo - recordings of music for film -amon tobin - out from out where? and so on and so forth. also, if anyone's interested, i have some mixes available on my website (www.rose-hulman.edu/~invergbm/audio.html), but they're kinda oldish...the more recent one is (obviously) more representative of what i spin right now. that's all i've got going on. can't wait to go back to chicago for the summer...there are a lot better shows than in terre haute, IN hi everyone! brandon invergo --- Noggin <noggin@txcyber.com> wrote:

is that a new album from 808state? havn't heard anything since the fantastic Don Solaris... my playlist has included a ton of random odd things, but cd wise it's included things like: underworld - a hundred days off lackluster - showcase (got that 2 days ago from him), wrapping gas - gas ulrich schnauss - far away trains passing by (superb stuff.... got his forthcoming one on mp3s last night, blew me away again) psb - tons of random stuff fax label - tons of random stuff drum club - all of their old albums (heh) orbital brown album... :) hardly anything new, I must admit... actually been digging through my cd piles and listening to stuff I havn't played in ages fun :) --- Agust "nemesis1" - aaj@centrum.is - ICQ: 1290264 - http://nem1.cjb.net free your :) [tm]

yes! i was in shock when i opened the envelope that contained it. it's pretty good so far, but i've only listened to it twice. i need to give it another listen or two before it totally sinks in. it's on universal/shadow.
ulrich schnauss - far away trains passing by (superb stuff.... got his forthcoming one on mp3s last night, blew me away again)
argh! i can't find this cd anywhere! long deleted i guess. i see the occasional vinyl copy on ebay, but as cool as vinyl is, i'd much rather have the cd right now. what label is the new one coming out on? have you heard the live set he did for Default (uk)? it used to be available on their website, but i'm pretty sure he requested that they take it down. it's fantastic. that was actually my introduction to him. regards, brandon invergo ===== barrel o'monkeys http://www.barrelomonkeys.com02.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? i just gave it another listen. i definitely has the same *vibe*, for lack of a better word, that existed in old 808 state and similar artists (orbital etc). almost an acid house vibe. the music is, obviously, a bit more modernized. there's a variety of styles represented too, house, d'n'b, etc. it's good. i'm not sure if i'd recommend it to people that are new to electronic music, but for fans of older stuff, i definitely recommend it.

I am going to go on the "I Hate Puns" bandwagon on this one, man. AJ babbled:
underworld - a hundred days off
Yeah, that albums good stuff. I miss Darren, but the other two can still pull off some nice tunes. As far as my playlists, CDs, etc., I've been listening to: Sasha - Airdrawndagger Really good stuff. Nice and flowing music, and he's pulled off his first self-produced album rather nicely, unlike other DJs *cough* *cough* Oakenfold *cough*. Way Out West - Intensify Same deal here. Excellent starter CD, after hearing their stuff on mixes and such. Some songs are definately on par with Hybrid. Orzic Tentacles Gotta credit them somewhere :) DJ Ron-E Good old fashioned trance. Actually, I've been listening to a lot of trance lately. Crystal Method's mix CD Heh, I'd never thought I'd actually like listening to a POD song. Timo Maas - Loud Cirrus - Counterfeit Journeys by Coldcut Very nice. Especially like the reappearance of Jello Biafra for another one of his rants, but good mixing overall. -- Brendan Byrd/SineSwiper <SineSwiper@ResonatorSoft.org> Perl hacker, computer wizard, and all-around internet guru Resonator Software <http://www.ResonatorSoft.org/>

ah ah...careful! junkie xl had a significant hand in the production of this album. i'm not saying it's not good, i'm just saying it's not purely sasha

coldcut's journey's by dj is one of the best mix cds i've ever heard, period. luckily, through my radio station gig, i've managed to gain access to about 10 or so "Solid Steel" radio shows that they've done, and they're equally good, but with a bit more emphasis on hip hop, so if that's not your thing, stay away. i think some of them are mixed by other people like strictly kev and dk, but it's coldcut's show. oh, and i also managed to find at the station the original vinyl version of that jello biafra speech. i have yet to use it though. i need to see that man speak sometime. it's gotta be even better than hearing it recorded. later, brandon invergo ===== barrel o'monkeys http://www.barrelomonkeys.com02.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
