what i was hoping i could do with my initial email was elicit some other "Top 10 or so electronic concerts i've seen" lists :) i miss the top 10 lists that we used to do. speaking of electronic shows though, i just saw moby the other day, and damn, he's a rock star. but, as a nice twist, i managed to pull off some front row, center seats for myself (free, i might add). i was wearing a blue orbital shirt with the orbital logo sketched on the front, and in between two songs, moby looked down and said "By the way, I like your Orbital shirt." Kind of taken off guard, I just smiled and said, "Yeah," like the genius I am. He continued with "Yeah, it's from the Brown Album, right? I mean, despite the fact that it's blue." And, continuing to not know what to say, I just smiled and said something to the intelligent extent of "Yeah." Then some annoying middle-aged groupie started yelling something about some monkey puppet she had, and stole my fire :(. oh well, it was fun being talked to by moby briefly. he put on a good show, but like i said, it's very rock-show-like. he played some good classics. he has some entertaining banter between songs though. let's see those top 10s (or 5s or 3s or whatever), at least for my own reading pleasure. :) --- JULIE LYNN HILL <jlhill1@students.wisc.edu> wrote:
I'd hope that the people on this list aren't anal enough to hate you over your concert preferences. :) It's always fun, though, to see who's good in concert and who isn't.
At any rate, sounds like it was amazing show - wish I could have caught one of the dates. At least now I have some new mp3's to hunt down!

well, i may be ostracized by many of the (remaining) members of this list, but i have to say that orbital may well have been knocked down to #2 on Brandon's Top 10 Best Live Electronic Acts That He's Actually Seen list. On friday i had the pleasure of going to the chicago stop of the Warp USA Mini-Tour, featuring the likes of richard devine, jamie lidell, mark bell, dj ease, chris clark, prefuse 73, and luke vibert, amongst others. and while most of them were all entertaining in their own right, jamie lidell completely blew me away.
