yes, i just saw them recently too. i can't recall whether or not any of the songs off of P-Brane were played, but that's the general style of it all: rapidly evolving beats smothered in melodies that ooze plaidy goodness. if you listen to there stuff in chronilogical order (i.e. trainer, not for threes, restproof clockwork, double figure) you can definitely hear their beats getting more and more varied and experimentalish. however, if i remember correctly, their encore was a very nice acid house-esque track with a straigh 4 on the floor beat. yes, plaid is awesome. have you listened to Brothomstates before? similar to plaid, but a little harder and more experimental. he's also on warp records. cheers brandon invergo --- Shaun Rader <DocShasta@myrealbox.com> wrote:

oh, and just thought i'd let people know that the new Plaid ep, P-Brane is simply fantastic. it's a bit disappointing that it's only an ep though. it's kind of a teaser, being only 4 tracks.
Saw Plaid about a week ago and I think they played a lot of new tracks. They only played like 2 or 3 songs off of Double Figure! Are they leaning toward the more experimental route? That's what it seemed like live. I want to hear some more of it because I wasn't expecting the experimental stuff since Double Figure seemed a bit more mainstream (Double Figure is one of my favorite electronic CDs BTW).
