Re: [Orb] OT for the most part: death to major labels
EMI's official response to Holger's letter was astonishing. Is there so much anger over this issue that they can't even hire a proficient PR person?
I felt the same way! I couldn't believe this was a response from a real person at a company. What better way to fully alienate a potential long term customer. If that guy had been a customer service rep at my company, he would have been out on his ass quicker than he could say "Fraunhoffer Codec" On another note, his (the EMI rep) accusing the author's letter of "Lack of knowledge" seems rather transparent when one considers that CD-Rs have uses other than making illegal duplicate copies of commercial cds. His reference to 215 million (or was it billion?) cds sold versus 250 million CD-Rs was so ignorant as to almost defy common sense. Isn't this person aware that desktop publishing houses, companies, and individuals use CD-Rs to store their own data in leiu of shitty diskettes?! _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus
