Hey everyone, Direct Connect (www.neo-modus.com) is a really nice app since it can be set up as peer-to-peer privately. In other words, someone on the list can set up access for anyone interested and keep it out of reach to the public. Another upside is that is has chat windows so anyone can make a request or carry a conversation realtime. It's pretty sweet. I've used it over anything else for about 6 months now... For example, Billy could set up the the host app, which requires nothing more than an IP to act as "home base". It's sort of like FTP but without the load on the host.... I don't think you can compare it to Entroducing or Pre-emptive strike [or even product placement] to be honest. It's more like the Unkle LP if that makes sense. It has a more structured sound to it i.e. not so much of the mad samples/cutting/scratching etc. [BUT last track is a live cut up with Numark & Cut Chemist] It's really growing on me to be honest. There are a couple of outstanding tracks on it that I wake up with them going round my head. Hoping to catch him at Melkweg [Doves on same night by some weird co-incidence] ;-) http://www.melkweg.nl/pro_muup.htm The Private Press was supposed to come out in April....guess it might be May. Have seen the Monosylabik promos doing the rounds recently too. Apologies for off topic meander, but it is Shadow.
