What a line-up on Sunday night. I left Roger Walters early and was lucky to catch Shpongle as the 'Surprise Guest' whom I had missed earlier as I was still crashed out. Then Hallucinogen and finally Loophead, my first live LX experience. To anyone who missed it there will be photos and short bursts of video on my website hopefully by the end of the week. It was a fantastic set. If anyone is going to MP3 any of the above acts and/or Hybrid or Orbital on the Saturday night or Faithless on the Friday then please let me know where it is posted. Thinking now I may have to get a ticket for the Essential Festival in a month, mmmm. L8rs Billy P.S. Like finding out who the mystery DJ was would have helped... Bongdevil@aol.com wrote:

I saw Loophead at Glastonbury and was overwhelmed by it! It was basically System 7 playing live whilst Alex Dj’d the Live stuff through the mixer along with the vinyl and what looked like a Kaos effects pad. The result was a fantastic mix of Orb and System 7 stuff, along with the Loophead track they released on badorb.com. Loads of mistakes (including bringing up one channel so loud they blew the speakers at the back) and on a number of occasions you could hear Alex queuing up the records. But none of this spoilt it and their set was a major festival highlight for me. Harry, I saw you there with your camcorder! I was at the front wearing a Bob9 shirt, dont know if you saw me, if there's any chance of a copy of your film, please mail me. The woman you described as looking like your gran is Miquette Giraudy, Steve Hillage's wife! Before Loophead we were sat in the Glade and I cheered at a bloke that looked like a member of ZZ-Top wearing a flowery frock and Elvis sunglasses, after which he came and sat down next to us, opened up his bag. And proceeded to place a healthy portion of Grass and resin into my hand! He then said something like “All it costs is a smile”! Top bloke! Said substances were then enjoyed by many throughout the rest of the festival and definitely highlighted the Loophead experience! Phil

:-) yeah, but it was still wicked. I wasn't close enough to see properly (and was off my tits anyway!) but were Hillage and Giraudy grinning like loons all the way through? When they played the Dance Tent on friday (?) they were grinning from ear to ear and looked like they were absolutely LOVING it! :-)

Definitely! I wish I'd got there earlier and seen more of Hallucinogen before them. For some reason I stayed with my mates for zero7 instead of going to see the start of Hallucinogen. Much as I like "simple things" their live show was very disappointing - they could have been miming to the album for all the "live" feel they gave it. Or maybe I was just too eager to see Loopphead to appreciate it properly.

I was at the left in front of the record stall, also wearing a TOG9, which my washing machine chewed up when I got home! It did the same to a ninjatune shirt as well.
