Don, Thanks! :) If you're at all interested in the whole israel/palestine thing, a good doc to check out is: http://www.cactus48.com/truth.html Kinda puts things into perspective a bit. One must never forget that this tiny strip of land has been subject to conquerers of all faiths and nationalities for roughly 3000 years. First the canaanites, then the assyrians, then the christians, the muslims, the christians again, the romans, the ottomans, the allies in WW1, etc etc etc.
You made some really good points especially with regard to Israel. I didn't know much of that until now. It is also worth mentioning that the resolutions against Iraq were only with regard to the attack on Kuwait and their failure to disarm. I'm not sure how many others they managed to get in their wars with Iran, Turkey, and Kurds.
I think it's also interesting to note that none of the iraq-related resolutions say anything, to my knowledge, about "no fly zones." As I understand it the US and Britain decided that they would unilaterally create such zones in order to ostensibly enforce the UN resolutions which didn't actually call for their creation. More bizarre behavior in our foreign policy... _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
