I feel fortunate that I have not seen them, however I have seen some shitty bands, courtesy of my "friends" shitty music taste. Some friends! I just saw R.E.M. a month or so ago. I was helping my "friends" interview Peter Buck for a documentary they're working on. So anyhoo, they give us tix for the show....Both of my "friends" listened to REM at one point in time, and I figure I'll get stoned before the show and see how bad they suck.....big surprise, they sucked just like I imagined. The only bonus was that there was a cute chick next to me who came by herself, even though she was dancing and mouthing all the lyrics. Then this pudly nerd guy sits next to me an nervously bounces his leg, which is touching my leg, due to his rotundness....so, I walked. Judging from Peter Buck's interview, these guys are just going thru the motions.... But these friends of mine have also invited me to such shitfests as the Connells, probably on of the most useless bands I have ever seen, and the Smithereens, who are equally as stupid. Whenever I hear somethng like REM or 10,000 Maniacs, I always think about how they must of been the biggest losers in high school not to mention day-to-day life.....you have the power to write anything you want, and thats the best you can come up with?
