RE: [Orb] good record palyer to preserve my orb vinyls
Am I going to dj? My day job supports my habit of making music and buying more hard disks/cd-rs. I toy with the idea of dj'ing. A lot. Still, just a dream...once school and the man is paid off, why not? Even if I just dj to my wife and the walls... Thanks for the info on the turntables. Checked out e-bay and Numark suppliers. I am still wet behind the ears. Time to go harass the local music stores as well. If you have $13,000, nothing beats a laser turntable. "No needle. No wear."
yeah, but it doesn't have digital out! :) Any turntable will connect to your soundcard. It's called "line-in" on your soundcard. With most turntables, you will need/want a pre-amp before the card. Check out Denon and Stanton. They have 'DJ' models that have digital out. If your soundcard has digital in, this is the way I'd go. No pre-amps, no setting levels, etc.. as close to plug-and-play as possible. If you don't have the digital-input, then just buy whatever. Are you going to DJ? Probably not, so you don't need the highest end with loads of torque. Maybe check out the numark line. Pro-TT2 is nice, but probably overkill, this can be had for as low as $280.US new. -chromatest _______________________________________________ Orb mailing list Orb@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/orb
