Yeah i use Streambox VCR for recording.. But there is a downside! Some streams (not groovetech) are somehow redirected, which means VCR cannot get to grab the stuff. I don't know how to solve that problem.. Anyone? A.r.v.

I haven't found anything decent to do a straight-up unattended ra-wav conversion. You?
Well, what I do is to play the real audio stream whilst simultaneously recording with a program such as Cool Edit 2000.
Then, when it's finished, save as WAV, and then burn to CD-R.
There are other programs out there that doe the same thing (Soundforge?), and others that grab the audio stream and save it as a RA file - you then require a RA --> WAV converter, and then the same thing - burn to CD-R.
Other people might be able to help you on the names of said programs, and links as to where you can download it ;)
Hope this helps,
Nick ;-)

Can somebody recommend software for capturing RealAudio streams (such as Thursday Teatimes) for burning to CD/DVD?

Check the list archives; they can be searched via Google. This was addressed this several months ago, but the fine details escape me. If it's merely redirects (sometimes multiple times), there are lots of ways around it, but it takes some tedious mucking about. However, a lot of RA streams are going to be inaccessible for another reason: it boils down to Real updating their software, and finally breaking VCR. There are other ways around it, as detailed in my earlier post. Chris (sorry for the lack of detail; my email archive is hosed) np: Steve Hillage - Motivation Radio PS: Anyone notice Lazlo changed the names of his lists? ;)
I actually just updated my streamboxvcr and it worked out fine. It will just grab all the redirects right along with it... Ramon . wrote:
