Had to edit the message, hopefully this one won't exceed 3KB! ;->
Okey dokey - firstly a quote from Alex on the Orb members - from http://www.vh1.com/artists/news/1441340/03062001/orb.jhtml:
"Paterson said in a recent interview that he will be joined on the tour by longtime Orb family members Simon Philips, Witchman (born John Roome) and Fil LeGonidec, a former Killing Joke member who also records as Autolump with partner Pantoes Relax.
"We can morph into four or five different bands between us," Paterson explained, referring to the myriad side projects he's worked on over the years. "We can be the Orb, Witchman can be Witchman, Witchman and me can be Multiverse, me and Simon can be Prayer Box, and Fil, our roadie, can also be Autolump.""
The main players are as follows:
- Alex Paterson - main dude, otherwise known as Duncan Robert Alex Paterson (or DR Alex Paterson for short), or LX (short form of Alex)! ;-> - is on the left of this photo - http://www.gwyncole.com/musicgigs/DSCN1537.JPG
- Simon Philips - is in Prayer Box - is the man who plays bass (amongst many other things) when the Orb plays live - is in the middle of this photo - http://www.gwyncole.com/musicgigs/DSCN1537.JPG
- John Roome - Witchman http://www.witchman.co.uk/ - is on the right of this photo - http://www.gwyncole.com/musicgigs/DSCN1537.JPG
And the collobarators (i.e. probably only contribute to one track off Bikes & Trikes - and don't play with them live) are:
- Thomas Fehlmann - (yup, he's Swiss!) - more info here http://www.flowing.de/ - has been collobarating with LX for some years now
- Jimmy Cauty - of KLF/Blacksmoke - more info either at www.blacksmoke.org or www.klf.de - co-wrote 'From A > Distance'
- Fil LeGonidec - of Autolump and ex-member of Killing Joke - http://www.autolump.com/index.htm - released stuff on Badorb label - new album out now - first 500 limited
- Jack Dangers - of Meat Beat Manifesto - http://www.brainwashed.com/mbm/ - LX contributed to a track on the last MBM album called 'RUOK?' - Soom-T - vocalist of group 'Monkey Tribe' - http://www.monkeytribe.net/soomtpage.htm - guests on the track "Aftermath" on the UK & US versions of Bikes & Trikes - Erik - no idea! Hope that helps - well, it helped to pass the time away researching it, even if it didn't! L8rs, Nick ;-)
Forgive my ignorance.... I am hungover from X-mas still and haven't bathed... I smell of and old paperback bookstore for some-reason. But who are these people... i mean I know them individually but why are they in the line-up? They play live too? Its wierd on Bro-evil that they have Oakenfold and Weatherall listed as 'Orb Live" but I assumed in a support capicity? I don't know shit.
