Radiohead was like a religious experience although I had recently eaten a few strange spores that this girl gave me. Kraftwerk was excellent. They were in these trippy day-glo outfits then disappeared and were replaced by skinny robots then reappeared in different outfits. The music was great but nothing too different from their studio versions of the same songs. The show on stage is what really made it. Parking was disastrous. A two lane road going in & out for 50,000+ people. I got off the freeway Saturday at 10:00am & got to a parking space about 2-miles away at 1:20pm. I left after Kraftwerk, got to my car around 12:30am and was blocked in by stand still traffic for several hours. I got to I10 (again like 2-miles) at 4:20am. Oh, DJ Icon was pretty great early afternoon in the Sahara tent. Is anyone familiar with her? I've heard the name before but was not familiar with her. Oh, current NEW music I am listening to & would recommend: 60 Channels "Covert Movements" The Cooper Temple Clause "Kick Up the Fire. And Let the Flames Break Loose" (did anyone check them out @ Coachella?) Thavius Beck "Decomposition" (kind of trip-hoppy, down-tempo drum & bass) John Wintemute

She was actually a dj on that dance show that was on Mtv for a while... we used to make fun of her, as we thought they just handed a hot chick some headphones and then piped in the music. I had to eat my words when I saw her live though - she's pretty good. (She opened for the Chemical Brothers in SF when they did a club date here about 6 months ago). Damn! The traffic sounds horrendous! Air & Kraftwerk both did dates in SF just before/after Coachella. Both excellent shows, though the music was pretty comparable to the studio versions, each had great visuals/stage presence that made up for it! ------------------------------------ Rachel's Orb Discography http://www.backsideoftheorb.com
