mr doh Thrash (see/hear early orb) has a new label called Justablip. if you guys are like me, you might be excited to hear what he's been up to lately...unless he's poked you in the eye recently (60% of the list?) the site is up but there are no releases yet - some great stuff planned tho I expect you'll all enjoy. right now theres just some articles written by him but there will be music to download & forums & stuff. basically it's a half or less finished site, but you can get a taste now & hopefully come back for more later if you aren't too disappointed. (disclaimer - I'm involved & not impartial). I encourage everybody to sign up for an account to test our database & give us feedback on the site, on what we could improve & what you would like to see. we'll send a mail out when theres more up. http://www.justablip.co.uk/ ant

Hey. You mention that you are thinking about licenses and stuff that offer more freedom than regular copyright. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at: http://creativecommons.org/ There is even a little flash movie explaining it all using the White Stripes as an example, narrated by Christopher Lydon (Ex-"Connection" host on US NPR): http://mirrors.creativecommons.org/ Here are the licenses: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/ The big idea is "Some rights reserved", and to simply enumerate all the different rights that you might want to reserve so that an author can easily choose which set of rights/restrictions he/she wants to publish any given work under. reed
Thanks man yeh Ive seen that Problem is though I want a specific license pure for the internet only No corporate use - I want the non internet stuff to stay the same.. I didn’t think there was anything there that suited me Plus it would be cool to use (K)2003 on my recordings (Cos me initial is K!) I have to agree that K is a nice mystical letter. But then everyone will think you're trying to be the KLF or something. reed _______________________________________________ Orb mailing list Orb@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/orb
