It's because in Texas they kill you for playing electronic music...
Oh, wait, in Texas they kill you for being retarded. No, wait, they elect you governor if you're retarded! I wouldn't be surprised if the Texan proclivity for killing it's own citizens doesn't turn off most civilized humans. Maybe it's because most of Texas is impossible to breathe in because of those frikkin' feed lots! Next time I drive across southwest Texas I'm taking a gas mask! Between Texans' love of the death penalty and their love of raising beef crammed together in little pens I doubt you'll ever see Meat Beat Manifesto play there. Or Moby either but who cares, huh? At least you get major acts. Here in the middle of the country we're lucky if Kenny G plays a concert. Other than that it's bluegrass and the occasional heavy metal act and country artists. I think there was a rave in Cincinnati last year. Man or Astroman? plays here regularly but they play everywhere regularly. At this point I would like to rage like a lunatic against the gutting of the FCC that allows fucking Clear Channel Entertainment to completely take over and homogenize the airwaves of this country into a paste of corporate dictated CRAP preventing anything progressive from being heard except on the rare college radio station but it would take too long. I have seen Meat Beat about 4 years ago. I say TTK the same year! Where the FUCK do you like? I saw Ethel Meat Plow also. Book of Love, Information Society several years ago, also. Don't bang on my state. Like yours is any better. That's a great CD, it's up to $22.50 on Ebay, but any Orb fan would love this album, highly recommended. :)

I wish I could trade this with you, but I have a very sad story regarding this album. I had no idea there was a second album until I found it in a used record store in the clearance bin for $1.00. I was so excited I couldn't wait to hear it. Of course, wouldn't you know it, I bought the CD of course, took it home and opened the case only to find that THE CD ITSELF WAS MISSING. The album is called "African Cosmopolitan" - the copy i have is a Geffen promo (just has an insert, no sleeve.) I imagine it probably never made it out as a commercial release. Here's the tracklisting: ab origine emergence pangaea come closer nonwhere energy and information beyond telos ahh well, nice to know that it probably does exist, unless it was just a sick Geffen joke. If anyone actually has a physcial copy of this disc, I'm sure many of us would LOVE a copy. Best, Jon
I saw a new Young American Primitive vinyl at my local DJ shop earlier this week... unsure what it is. dj monolith --- Jon Masciana <jmasciana@earthlink.net> wrote:
