Number 33 in Kompakt's techno series features a standout track from the Orb as well as a brilliant debut from new Swedish artists The Rice Twins. On 'God Less America' the Orb follow on from their recent Okie Dokie LP with a more dancefloor orientated number full of grit and swing via their trademark dub-soaked production. The Rice Twins track - 'For Alexis & Marie' features some of the richest, lushest synth melodies committed to vinyl in a long time strung out over a slow techno groove, it's quite astonishing to think that this is their first release!
Thanks for the heads up! I've been having a hard time keeping track of what's coming out these days. Picked up this and the Komfort single that came out last may (?). The shipping costs from Kompact to the US are a bitch - more than the cost of the two 12"s! -matt

If you're willing to suffer the VAT, Kompakt's MP3 service has a lot of this week's flavor at 320 kbps... http://www.kompakt-mp3.net/ Search for The Orb. On the other hand (which wants the vinyl), Playing By Ear handles all of the new Kompakt - as well as several other imports. David Hodgson runs his biz from New Mexico and is hands down the most professional, efficicient email-order service I have ever dealt with - and I have dealt with several. He has Speicher 33 in stock (or if he's out, it's new and can be gotten by him in short order). Drop him an email at playing.by.ear@mindspring.com and save yourself a lot of searching and import shipping cash. Don't order from him if you don't plan to buy, though - that screws up any relatively small seller. Tell him I sent you.
