Personally i'm a fan of the alien mindprobe theory. It explains why Pomme Fritz was so explosively weird, why Orbus Terrarum contains a sample of Fil going 'I love you Thomas and i want to have your children', why Orblivion generally fidgeted like a mouse dying from nicotine injection, why Cydonia's full of bizarre novelty microtracks and why Bicycles and Tricycles has neither class nor soul. The truth is that Alex has had a Brain Slug since about 1994. If you don't believe me, tell me why there's no Futurama samples in any Orb songs at all. Tell my why neither Alex nor anyone representing the Orb has ever mentioned Brain Slugs, Futurama or anything else that draws attention to this terrifying and salient possibility. This also explains Alex's predilection for hats, and the stud in his nose which is actually a transmitter. If anyone wants to experiment by directing severe electro-magnetic interference at Alex's nose during the next Orb gig to disrupt the signal, we can see for ourselves whether i'm right.
