I'm on a i-mac,and I find the whole machine a lot user friendlier than Windows machines overall. -Ive also seen a coule of mac's on stage at a Le orb gig for what it's worth! ===== If you have enough energy, half a brain and can convince enough people that you could be the next Orson welles you will become a film maker.Don't be put off by ridicule, poverty or fear you can do it. - Chris jones & Genevieve Jollife. -July 30th '96.(03.52 hours) __________________________________________________ Yahoo! Most musicians I can think of use Macs - in fact I'd be hard pushed to name you a musician who uses PC's.
From memory; 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald, New Order, The Orb, Orbital, Aphex Twin, etc all use Macs exclusively. Guess the reason for this is that musically, the Macintosh was the first computer to have serious musical capabilities, with the PC having to play catch-up in terms of both software and hardware. Nowadays, of course, both hardware and software is comparable, but Macs still remain a favourite with musos!

I'd say it's pretty balanced nowadays. With the multitude of PCI audio interfaces and all the same basic tools, along with intercompatible things like VST plugins and such, it's less and less a matter of capability and more a matter of preference. ---- Mark Schieldrop Reporter, The Narragansett Times mark@schieldrop.net
Let's see here. Aphex Twin uses a PC now, has macs, but has only lately been seen with a PC giging. Same with Squarepusher and Luke Vibert. The only artist recently I've seen with a Mac is Mu-ziq. Kraftwerk also uses Sony laptops with Cubase and MIDI controllers for their live shows. I think the popularity of Macs for music is because of one program - ProTools. Others, like the newer Ableton Live, might be better for live shows though. -----Original Message----- From: orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Rusty Householter Sent: Friday, August 15, 2003 5:44 AM To: What were the skies like when you were young? ProTools is for bands - Most Electronic Producers use Digital Performer. -eric -----Original Message----- From: orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of kim Sent: Friday, August 15, 2003 9:36 PM To: What were the skies like when you were young?
