how cool would it be if they decided to release 'bicycles & tricycles' in a 5.1 format...? would you buy it? have they ever tried recording a 5.1 mix? interesting..........
Hell yeah, I'd buy it. I'd love to hear a 5.1 version of Orbus Terrarum. Both times I saw Orb they had some sort of surround/quad sound going on so they've at least done it live. Thrash, are you doing anything in 5.1? -----Original Message----- From: orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of dubcity Sent: Friday, May 16, 2003 8:07 PM To: orb@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Orb] how cool would it be... how cool would it be if they decided to release 'bicycles & tricycles' in a 5.1 format...? would you buy it? have they ever tried recording a 5.1 mix? interesting..........
I've heard the FFWD is mastered in Dolby Surround (any truth to this Kris?) Regardless of whether it is or not, it still sounds good in surround sound.

Ffwd was the first released album with surround I believe I haven't mixed anything in it since I'm not that bothered to be honest But I might I like melodies and weird sounds and drums better... Anybody out there know how well Dolby Surround survives the MP3 encoding process? Do you need a certain bit-rate so that it preserves the out of phase portion correctly? I ask as all my albums are ripped onto my hard drive for easy access and listened to on a Pro-Logic amp. The rear portion still seems to be there but how accurate would this be? Anyone else have any experience with this? The parts I've heard seem to have something going on in the rear speakers, but I don't think I have my system set up right. I'll try to get it sortedm though, and let everyone know. f --- dubcity <theorb@shaw.ca> wrote: >
